PIPE FOREMAN - HEAVY CIVIL CONSTRUCTION

Searching for high quality, production driven, experienced Pipe Foreman for heavy civil projects in the Regional Greensboro, NC Area.Locations and projects.

Pipe Foreman must have experience installing sewer, water, and storm drain. Working knowledge of local specifications, blueprints, and survey staking. Manage a 2 to 7 employee crew while maintaining daily safety and production goals.

Job Duties/Pipe Foreman:

  • Coordinates and supervises daily activities of a 2 – 4-person crew(s)
  • Utilizes heavy equipment to excavate, install and backfill drainage pipe.
  • Work closely with Contractors and Sub-Contractors
  • Sequences pipe installation to reduce inference with other project activities and the public.
  • Continually inspects work site, surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns.
  • Responsible for crew safety. Establishes safe work environment that complies with the Company safety program.
  • Observes assigned equipment to detect machinery malfunctions. Assures the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Analyzes job cost reports to ensure production is within budget.
  • Reviews and approves employee time reporting.
  • Material delivery coordination and recording
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Work Experience, Attributes and/or Education Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years Heavy Civil Pipe Foreman Experience Required
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks for self and project team
  • Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds and, at times, as much as 90 pounds, as may be assigned
  • Read & interpret technical drawings
  • Shoot grades and understand layout designs and implementation of same
  • Ability to use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, eye levels, and transit levels to set appropriate grade for pipe installation
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively with diverse workforce

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
  • Capable of being certified to enter confined spaces, including climbing into and out of excavations up to 15 feet in depth, using ladders or crawling, as required.
  • Sufficient skill and visual acuity, under varying degrees of light, darkness, and weather conditions, to provide direction and flagging for operators of cranes with rated capacities of up to 300 tons.
  • The Pipe Foreman must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
